Canteen

The APEEE Ixelles Canteen service prepares school meals on site for all registered pupils on a daily basis.

IMPORTANT - COVID-19 - CANTEEN SERVICE CHANGES

In compliance with the safety measures agreed by the Wallonia-Bruxelles Federation and the EEB3, necessary adjustments have been implemented towards the daily service and the time schedule of the Canteen service.

DISH OF THE DAY (NURSERY)

ORGANISATION - DAILY SERVICE

A team of 5 chefs prepares 95% of the food on site from raw ingredients. The 3 course lunch menu comprises:
  • - soup/raw vegetables
  • - warm main course
  • - dessert
  • - bread and water

Please note: Due to the Covid risk management measures, all self-service is suspended, including the salad bar. Table service is provided directly by the Canteen staff

Canteen Serving Times - (as implemented on compliance of the Covid-19 Safety measures)

Menus are posted on the doors of the refectory and of the teachers' canteen and also presented on TV screens in the canteen area.

Seating arrangements
Necessary adjustments have been implemented, particularly with regard to the service areas,in accordance with the standards laid down in circular 76.86 of the Wallonia- Brussels Federation.

Secondary students will be placed at the table by class level and language section.
They should always occupy - as far as possible - the same place. Unnecessary movements are to be avoided.
Based on the number of registrations, other adjustments in order to comply to the space and timetable criteria could be implemented in the following weeks.

SNACKS – AFTER SCHOOL GARDERIE/SNACK & GO

Snacks are prepared for pupils registered for the on-site garderie in the school and for pupils enrolled for Snack&Go (extracurricular activity).

N.B. The hygiene measures implemented for the Covid-19 infection prevention in the Canteen are also applied to the snacks of the Garderies.

In compliance with the safety measures agreed by the Wallonia-Bruxelles Federation and the EEB3, necessary adjustments have been implemented towards the daily service and the time schedule of the Canteen service.
Hot meals are suspended with the exception of nursery classes.
Hot meals will be replaced by lunch boxes, which will be distributed by the canteen staff.

Daily service organisation
Nursery:
The timetable and the organisation of the canteen service have not changed. Children will continue to go to the canteen with their teacher at agreed times. 1,5m social distancing will be ensured between class bubbles.
Dessert will be eaten in classroom - this will allow children more time to eat.
Primary:
Lunch boxes will be delivered by the canteen staff in front of the classroom door. They will be distributed and eaten in class under the supervision of the teacher.
Secondary:
A) Enrolled students will receive a lunch box in the refectory between 12.50 and 13.50.
B) Students not enrolled in the canteen can eat their own lunch as usual in the Cafeteria, Hall AB, Cervantes Room or outside.
Garderie, snack & go:
Canteen will continue to provide snacks to the OIB garderie groups and Snack&Go extracurricular groups. Lunch box will be provided on Wednesday. Details and menu will be communicated on the APEEE website.
