General information and application procedure can be found on the school's website.

The student should submit an application which explains the personal aims of the exchange and their motivation to participate in the Students’ Mobility Program.

November-December: school sends information/ application form to all parents

February 1: parents have to return the completed application form

March/April: Decision on the non/acceptance of the exchange is communicated and all additional documents are sent to the parents

April/July: identification host families

For the choice of the school please visit the home-pages of the European Schools: and/or Accredited European Schools, where you can see which language sections are available in each school and if the student’s L1 is taught in that school.

Many schools have established their own specific rules for the students’ mobility programme:

  • some schools accept mutual exchange – the families host the students mutually; requiring an equal number of incoming and outgoing students;
  • some schools accept only whole semester exchanges;
  • some only accept students from specific years (eg S5).
