Appeal to Parents: compliance with safety measures in APEEE services

Dear Parents,

The APEEE services have implemented specific security measures officially approved by the Federation Wallonia-Brussels and the School.

We need your support to stress to pupils the importance of continuous compliance with these measures. While the vast majority of pupils are happy to respect the rules, the effectiveness of this prevention strategy can be achieved only if everyone strictly follows the instructions.

At the canteen, unfortunately some pupils are disobeying the rule of sitting at their assigned seat, which was put in place to maintain specific, traceable “bubbles”. Moreover, they do not respect the instruction to limit their movements to the minimum necessary (while always wearing a mask). Not only is this in breach of safety regulations but it demonstrates clear disrespect towards all the other pupils who follow the rules.

Please note that since the current situation leaves no room for discussion on this topic, the APEEE Board decided to apply sanctions to any case of infringement. Therefore, any transgressing pupil(s) will be excluded from the Canteen.

On the buses, wearing a mask is mandatory for all pupils and staff for the duration of the journey. We are aware that some parents of nursery pupils are concerned about this measure, but to ensure the safety of all pupils on board we insist on everyone wearing a mask. This position was endorsed by the APEEE Board at its meeting of 29 September. Although our supervisors make every effort to ensure compliance with this measure, we regret to say that a limited number of pupils simply do not respect it, either by not being equipped with a mask or by removing it in the middle of the journey. The APEEE Board decided that pupils who do not use a mask on the bus will not be allowed to use the service.

We ask you to discuss with and remind your children about the need to follow the instructions and the consequences of any misconduct.

Thank you for your comprehension and support.
